What else is there besides our kids? They’re the reason we get up at 4. They’re the reason we work 80 hours a week. They’re the reason we work out. They’re the reason your anxiety about their futures eats at you at 2AM. But they’re the catalyst for all your greatest points of joy in your life. They’re everything. You’re on board for being a good dad, it’ll be your life’s work. But this whole picture thing — you’re not into it…

New dads listen up…This stuff goes fast. Experienced dads know I’m right, and the OG Dad’s are laughing and thinking, “you guys have no idea…” You deserve to remember this. You deserve to remember the good times. The smiles. The hugs. All the stuff that keeps you going should be immortalized forever. You should have a reminder on your phones background, on your desk, in the garage, of why you’re grinding day in and day out. Listen, I’m a Dad. I’m one of you. I’ll make this process as easy as I can on you and I promise I’ll do my best to make it fun. Someday, you’re going to be really thankful you let your guard down and gave the kids a big hug on picture night.

Also, I think 2-3 beers prior to the session makes the process infinitely more fun on everyone. And you can tell your wife I said that, too..
